Street sweeping rules change during major holidays in San Francisco.
Finding parking on Vallejo Street means paying close attention to the rules. The city's mechanical sweepers clean this block on Tue 1st & 3rd and Wednesday. You must keep the curb clear until 8. Many locals park a few blocks away the night before to avoid the early morning rush.
Besides street cleaning, check if Vallejo Street requires a Residential Parking Permit (RPP). If you don't have a neighborhood permit sticker, you might only be allowed to park for 2 hours. If you are at a parking meter, make sure you pay through the official PayByPhone app or at the machine.
Always check the color of the curb before you leave your car. Red means no parking ever (fire lanes). White is for 5-minute passenger loading, and Yellow is for commercial vehicles. A ticket for blocking a red zone is much more expensive than a regular street sweeping fine.
